Book announcement: The Rocket Handbook for Amateurs
One of two "essential" amateur rocketry books
Before Estes and Centuri, there were two books that could guide amateur rocket builders into safely building and flying rockets, and this is one of them.
It is a collection of articles by experts in their respective fields for use by amateurs intending to build and test model rockets. It is one of a pair of books, the other being Brinley's Rocket Manual for Amateurs. Of the two, this is the more advanced, as it covers the construction of liquid fueled rockets, which Brinley does not, and discusses theory in greater depth. Nevertheless, it would be a great contribution to the success of the next generation of rocketeers if Brinley’s literary successor would reprint his book, which is still in copyright.
